Welcome to the Wonduruba Community USA! We are dedicated to celebrating the vibrant traditions and customs of our South Sudanese heritage, embracing and cherishing our shared identity. Our goal is to foster unity and solidarity among Wonduruba individuals in North America, as we work together to preserve our unique cultural heritage for generations to come.

Origin

Our community originates from the beautiful and diverse country of South Sudan, located in the heart of Africa. Specifically, we hail from the Central Equatoria region, known for its rich culture and vibrant traditions.

Clans

Explore Wonduruba ‘s Rich Culture

The Wonduruba Community USA is made up of 13 distinct clans, each with its own unique traditions, beliefs, and customs. Our community originates from the Central Equatoria region of South Sudan. One of the key aspects of our culture is the practice of traditional marriage, which prohibits individuals from the same clan from marrying each other.

Wonduruba

Wonduruba consists of nine distinct clans, each of which does not intermarry

Möngiling

Möngiling consists of four distinct clans, each of which does not intermarry with the other.

Mankaro

Is a large clan composed of nine distinct clans, each of which maintains endogamy.

Logwerle

Logwerle is the second largest clan, composed of 8 distinct clans, each of which practices endogamy.

Malakan

Malakan comprises five distinct clans, each of which does not intermarry with the others due to their blood relations.

Moje

Moje is the third-largest clan, comprising seven distinct sub-clans, each characterized by the practice of endogamy.
